Alice Choo-Shee-Nam, CEO
Hello, my name is Alice Choo-Shee-Nam and I
am the Founder of Frostines Inc. Maker of
Shelf-Stable Peanut and Nut Free Gourmet Cookies
and other bake treats. We are a retail and
private label manufacturer of peanut and Nut
free Homestyle baked goods and confections that
are geared towards allergy sensitive consumers
in
North America.
The inspiration behind my company came both
from my desire and passion to bake since I was a
young girl growing up with my Grandmother in the
country who was a great baker and teacher who
thought me the essentials of baking and cooking.
My 4 year old son even though he is not
sensitive to peanuts or nuts currently lives
with allergies associated with milk, cheese, egg
shellfish and other dairy food allergies everyday because
of this, I understand the
implications of living with a serious food
allergy everyday.
Intially, for the first three months into our
business we were not nut free. Customers would
come into the store and said they didn’t mind
purchasing our products for themselves but they
had people in their families that had allergies
to nuts. So, in March of 2007 after opening in
December 2006, we took out everything that had
nuts in the store. We had to revamp our company
recipes to reflect the products that now had
no peanut or nut by products. Customers welcomed
the change so much so that local schools and
current customers started referring those with
allergies to our company and we haven’t looked
back since.
Depicted on our logo are our two wonderful children who have
inspired us everyday since our company was
created and still continues to do so along with
our growing North American allergy consumers.
The management of Frostines Inc. has a total
combination of over 15+ years in the Retail and
Foodservice Business. The Expertise and
Knowledge have taken years to hone, and our
company will tirelessly strive to make our
products more desirable and more appealing to
better serve our consumers.
